Concrete We Install
What types of concrete services do we offer?
We handle the full residential and light-commercial concrete spectrum. Here are the project categories we pour most often in Redding.
Residential driveways
Standard residential driveways in Redding are 4 inches of 3,500–4,000 PSI concrete on 4–6 inches of compacted Class 2 aggregate base. RV pads, truck driveways, and any slab over 600 square feet get 5–6 inches with #4 rebar at 18" on center. In our heat, proper curing is the single biggest factor in slab longevity, every driveway gets curing compound applied within minutes of finishing.
PCA: 30+ year service life when properly cured and jointed.
Outdoor patios & living spaces
Redding's climate makes outdoor living a year-round reality. Standard broom finish runs roughly $6–$10 per square foot installed; exposed aggregate $8–$13; stamped and colored $12–$20. We always include a 1/8" per foot slope away from the house, fiber-reinforced mix, and control joints at no more than 10 feet apart, the three details that prevent cracking in our heat.
Internal: 38% of 2024 pours were residential patios and pool decks.
Pool decks & outdoor surfaces
Pool decks are one of our fastest-growing services. We pour slip-resistant, heat-reflective surfaces that stay comfortable barefoot even in July. Options include cool-deck coatings, light-colored stamped patterns, and textured broom finishes. Every pool deck gets proper drainage slope away from the pool, expansion joints at the coping, and a UV-stable sealer.
Internal: pool deck inquiries up 35% year-over-year in Shasta County.
Foundations & structural slabs
For new builds, additions, and detached garages we pour footings, stem walls, and slab-on-grade per California Building Code. Minimum frost depth here is 12 inches, much shallower than mountain areas. Footings go a minimum of 8" thick by 16" wide for residential. We coordinate with framers, plumbers, and inspectors so the slab is right the first time. Seismic requirements per CBC are standard on every foundation pour.
California Building Code: 12" frost depth, seismic Zone D requirements.
